Commission 3: Wolverine Cosplay Claws

I was recently commissioned to do a pair of Wolverine claws. They are based on the claws used in the early X-Men movies, and they have excellent details and a real thickness to them. The original models were 3d printed, but I had a lot of issues with the grips and the struts connecting them. Instead of continuing to 3d print them and work on the model side of things, I decided to do a 2 part silicone mold and cast them in resin. After the resin casts were done, touched up and finished I applied a base black gloss coat and a light coat of alclad II chrome. This gave them a nice dark metallic look, as opposed to a heavier high shine coat. I painted the grips light brown to blend in when held, and made the struts custom for the intended hand by gluing in kabob skewers with a coating of epoxy putty.
